Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between EN8 and EN19?
A: EN8 is a medium carbon steel (AISI 1040) used for general-purpose shafts and axles. EN19 (AISI 4140) is a Cr-Mo alloy steel with higher strength and toughness, used for critical components requiring heat treatment to 850–1000 MPa tensile strength.
Q: Do you supply heat-treated bars?
A: Yes — bars are available in annealed, normalised, quenched & tempered (Q&T) and hardened & tempered (H&T) conditions. Hardness reports and heat treatment certificates are provided.
Q: What is the minimum order quantity?
A: Typically 50 kg for standard grades in stock. Custom heat treatment, special lengths or exotic alloys may require higher MOQ — contact us for details.
