Buttweld reducers connect pipes of different bore sizes. Concentric reducers maintain a common centreline; eccentric reducers offset the centrelines for drainage and horizontal pump suction lines.

Manufacturing Process: Hot press from seamless pipe sections or deep drawn from plates.

Heat Treatment: As-rolled or normalised. PWHT 580–620 °C for weld stress relief.
